Some realities of college life – Education – School and University
If you think university life is all about sororities, frats, all-nighters and independence to follow a path involving exploration and discovery, it’s not just you. But Javier A. Daniel, doing their MA in Brooklyn College shows a reality that is all his own. He is not alone, either. Within brief, this is what he said:
He acquired spent a week at the St. John’s campus but the cost might not allow his to join. He had grants and scholarships. He still required $8000 to join St. John’s that term. He had two choices.
[1] Please take a huge loan, enjoy university life and pay back for several years. [2] Work and study full-time without “enjoying” university life. He chose Rogue college for his under-grad review.
His days went like this: Way up 5 am to are accountable to work. 9 am classes after a graveyard shift. Evening instructional classes after just a few hours associated with sleep. In between, I guess he to find time to shop, clean, cook, grab a chunk and study.
Altogether, 45-hour work-weeks and full curriculums. He said, “…the City College of New York used to be totally free. Now blacks and Hispanics enroll en masse, and have to cover.”
Javier says he wanted to go to be able to Brooklyn Law school. His LSATs weren’t very good, thus he had to abandon that dream. After graduation, he or she took up a job as a paralegal along with joined Broklyn College for his / her MA. He says he is focusing on immigration in New York, a subject all-around his heart. “I was laid off in December,” he or she wrote. “Still, I am going to finish this specific education.”
